Poro De Melaka Waterfront

Harvest Court Construction has been awarded a turnkey design and construction contract work for Phase 1 of Porto De Melaka Waterfront Project with contract value of RM153 million.

Porto de Melaka Waterfront Project is a joint venture development between Tinta Anggun Engineering Sdn Bhd (“Developer”) and Genting Citra Sdn Bhd (“Landowner”).

The development site measuring 9.922 acres is located nearby the buffer zone of the UNSECO’s World Heritage Site and is easily accessible to the main commercial developments and tourist landmarks, namely Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall, Mahkota Parade, Hatten Square in Melaka Raya and the famed Jonker Walk, Stadthuys, St. Paul’s Church, A’Famosa Fort and Museum.

It is a mixed development project consisting of 382 units of villa apartment, a one-floor retail lifestyle mall, a 192 room 5-star hotel and a basement consisting of 670 car parking bays.

The 5-star hotel will be positioned as a high-end river front hotel. Its close proximity to the tourist attractions augurs well for the proposed development. This plan fits neatly into the Government’s effort to promote Malaysia as the preferred tourist destination. Since Melaka was enlisted into UNSECO World Heritage Site in 2008, its tourism industry has enjoyed impressive growth and thus the planned hotel will cater to the increasing tourists from the high-spending category.

The retail shops will have dual frontages onto the internal serviced roads as well as a covered pedestrian walkway, complementing the surrounding vibrant commercial attractions. This initiative will take advantage of the increasing number of tourist arrivals into the historical city where the demand for more retail supplies, namely restaurants, food & beverage outlets and souvenir stores has grown many folds.

The proposed serviced apartments are planned to be high-end and luxurious residences equipped with superior features and alluring designs. Some of the units will have direct frontages onto the Melaka River and some located at higher floors will enjoy the view of the Straits of Melaka. For those located on the ground floor, they will have a courtyard garden. Supported by hotel operations, this branded residential project will offer superior and more attractive services than most high-end residential projects, allowing it to command higher selling prices. It pins its confidence on the favorable demand from the high income groups, foreign buyers and investors.
